    Koneswaram temple / Thirukonamamalai Konesar Kovil is one of the most famous Hindu Temples in Sri Lanka.Situated in Trincomalee an ancient port city and a famous tourist destination in the country.This centuries old temple was built on Swami Rock – a hill area in the place overlooking beautiful, vast Indian ocean.It is one of the best tourist attraction in Sri Lanka.

    • Koneswaram Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located in the coastal town of Trincomalee in eastern Sri Lanka. It is considered one of the most important Hindu shrines in the country and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has a long history, with evidence of its existence dating back to the 2nd century BCE. It was destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries, with the most recent restoration taking place in the 20th century. Today, Koneswaram Temple attracts thousands of Hindu pilgrims from around the world, who come to offer prayers and participate in religious festivals.
